Each year our P&C provides funds to Beechwood Public School for important resources. These include for curriculum related activities, but also for inclusion, fun, play, and safety, amongst other things.
This year, 2024, we have big goals!
At the end of 2023 we applied for a grant to cover the brand new play equipment that our children received that year.
The grant conditions only allowed us to apply for a portion of the funding, so we had to commit to raising about 1/3 of the amount, which amounts to around $15,000.
When our committee met at the start of this year to determine what we were going to fund this year (and how we were going to fund it) we agreed that there were other things that we wanted to provide, that we do for BPS each year.
These included over $6000 worth of Classroom, Library, and Support Unit donations. We also wanted to make sure we had some extra funds to make sure we could cover any additional needs that arose during the year.
We are also legally and financially responsible to ensure that we have the financial resources to maintain our Canteen and BOOSH services.
So $25,000 is the figure we've come up with this year!

We get that this sounds like a lot of money, and in times when financially things have been tough on communities...
We also know that when things are tough, communities come together. Communities reach out and help, and we dig deep and get through.
This year will be no different...

In an average year, our P&C donates around $20,000 to Beechwood Public School through a range of different activities. Grant funding, raffles, events, and nights out.
We figure an extra $5000 isn't that much, and we know that we have a variety of great events and fun fundraising ideas to get things flowing.
The key to taking the pressure off our beautiful Beechwood families, is to share the events around - some will be school based, some will be after hours, some will be local, and other ones (such as our raffles) can go much further afield!
The more we share, the better our reach, and the more people who can be a part of supporting our beautiful school, and our wonderful children.

We've already raised $2,640 from our 2024 Easter Raffle, and we have a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser happening RIGHT NOW, and are also planning a Colour Run for later on in the year. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for key dates and events!

There are so many different ways you can be a part of supporting our school and helping us reach our goal this year!
You can Join our P&C and be part of the Event planning and coordinating. You can volunteer and help us out at the events (without being part of the planning). You can donate (either money or other items). You can share our events, fundraisers and other things on your social media and help us get our message out.
